Smoky Mountain Opry Theater Plans Underway

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn., Sept. 29, 2011 – Scheduled to open Nov. 4, 2011, The Smoky Mountain Opry Theater in Pigeon Forge, is undergoing over a million dollars in renovation to the current Miracle Theater. Renovations include a new marquee on the Parkway and on the building; new carpeting, new aisle lights and a completely renovated lobby with new Christmas decorations and a new country themed gift store. The newly renovated stage area will have a flashy modern look with enhanced sound and visual effects, new video screens and a new band platform.

The Smoky Mountain Opry Theater at 2046 Parkway will twinkle and illuminate the night sky during the Christmas holidays with the glow of over a million holiday lights synchronized to Christmas music on the top and the sides of the building as well as on Christmas trees around the building. In addition, a new amusement area on the property will bring an abundance of carnival rides, music, shopping, arts and crafts, fun food, live animals and a Christmas themed environment. “This will be more than a theater,” said theater co-owner and company chief executive officer David Fee. “This will become a real top-notch Christmas destination for both locals and tourists.”

Progress on the building renovations has begun, but will happen in phases and the final stage will not begin until “The Miracle” performs its last show on Oct. 22nd. For more information call the theater’s box office (865) 428-7469 or 1-800-768-1170 or visit http://www.SmokyMtnOpry.com. The Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group, one of the largest show production companies in the southeast, also owns and produces three other major shows in the Smoky Mountain area including “The Comedy Barn”, the all new “Hatfield and McCoy Dinner and Show,” and “The Country Jamboree Breakfast Show” featuring the Blackwoods. +++
