Comedy Barn Theater’s Dawn Goehring and her Comedy Canines Take a Special Breed of Laughter and Entertainment to The Big Apple!

Dawn GoehringPigeon Forge, TN – At one time, this professional troop of entertainers was a rag-tag bunch of strays, sentenced to a future behind bars, or worse. That all changed when Animal Trainer Dawn Goehring came into their lives. Not only did she rescue them, Goehring gave them a big-break in show business!

The Comedy Canines (and their trainer) steal the show night after night at the Comedy Barn Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN. Representing breeds ranging from your average mix, to the exotic Chinese Crested “hairless” dogs, their spunky, well timed, and comical performances communicate their happiness in life and love for their trainer and friend.

“I want to promote healthy relationships between people and pets.” Says Goehring, “And, of course, I want to support the Humane Society and encourage animal lovers to find their pets in local shelters.”

She’ll be taking that message to New York City on February 12, 2006 as the Comedy Canines tape a requested audition for Late Night with David Letterman. Monday and Tuesday, February 13 and 14 “Dawn and her Rowdy Rescues” will perform at the Penn Plaza Pavilion, appearing in the Dog Gone Smart Expo (which is held in conjunction with the Westminster Dog Show).

“As a trainer it is quite an accomplishment for your dogs to perform in such a large, prestigious venue.” Goehring further explains, “It is so important to me to take a bunch of shelter dogs to a place like this, showing the world that you can teach an old dog new tricks!”

This won’t be the first time for the Comedy Canines to appear on television, they have made appearances on D.I.Y. Network, Animal Planet, and Cartoon Network, and in many national commercial ads. They also perform in about 500 shows a year at the Comedy Barn Theater!
